Audition to join the Kendall Square Orchestra

Kendall Square Orchestra holds virtual auditions on an annual basis prior to the start of each season.

AUDITIONS FOR THE 2023-24 SEASON ARE NOW CLOSED.

Audition Video Submission Requirements

We kindly request that you prepare a single continuous video (no more than 5 minutes in length).
The video should encompass the following :

  1. A standard orchestral excerpt of your choice.

  2. A short solo piece of your choosing that highlights both your technical and lyrical playing (excerpts from longer solo works are acceptable).

  3. Strings players should also record a G Major scale (2-3 octaves).

Guidelines for Audition Submission:

  1. Please upload your video as an ‘unlisted video’ on YouTube (or any other video streaming service that you find convenient).

  2. Submit the link to your video via this audition sign-up form no later than August 14th, 2023.

  3. Should you encounter any challenges or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our operations manager, Andy Wilds, at a.wilds@kendallsquareorchestra.org.

2023-24 Season FAQs

  • Weekly on Tuesdays from 6:45-9:30 pm at 650 E Kendall Street (Cambridge, MA)

  • Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023

  • All members must be at least 18 years or older to participate.

  • Concerts: Members are expected to be available for all concert dates.

    Rehearsals: Members may miss no more than 25% of rehearsals per concert cycle.

    Any additional expected absences must be communicated and approved by Andy and Kristo (Music Director)
