Symphony for Science 2020

An online evening of music and words to raise awareness, hope, and funds for Next Step

Next Step is a Cambridge, MA based community organization that provides programming for young individuals (age 14-29) managing life-threatening illnesses including rare genetic diseases, cancer and HIV. The use of music therapy is a key element of their programming and services. All proceeds benefited this amazing organization.

Together we raised over $75,000!

The program for Symphony for Science 2020 focused on the themes of home and resilience. Young individuals, regardless of health status, face challenges as they make the transition to adulthood and independent living. For those living with serious illness, that transition is exponentially more harrowing and the need for a community of support to guide them towards finding a home in themselves, and develop the resilience necessary to do so, is absolutely essential. Proceeds from Symphony for Science will benefit Next Step to support fulfillment of this important mission.

Music is an essential part of Next Step’s programs, as the many young members work with music therapist Kimberly Khare to create original songs that help them to express their stories. Music helps give them a voice, and we at K2O were honored to be able to help amplify it.
